TRENCH GUN CONFIGURATION. Cal. 12ga, 2 3/4" chamber. S# E752552; matches on bbl extension and receiver. 20 3/4" bbl. Markings include "MODEL 97 - 12GA - 2 3/4" CHAM CYL". Takedown shotgun has a shortened bbl and equipped with a reproduction bayonet mount and ventilated handguard. Silver color bead front sight. Bbl extends approx. 3/8" ahead of bayonet lug. Walnut stock set. Grooved slide handle. Steel widow's peak buttplate. Military style brown leather sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Model 1917 bayonet with 16 7/8" fullered blade. 21 5/8" overall. Left ricasso marked "1917" with encircled "W" indicating Winchester Mfg. Right ricasso has flaming bomb over "US" Winchester Acceptance mark and "X". Leather scabbard with metal throat and tip; painted green over black leather. Replacement belt hook. Scabbard is in serviceable condition. Bayonet has been sharpened, well worn and turning gray and patina. CONDITION: stock set has light wear with scattered handling marks. Metal has a dull phosphate finish with notable grayish coloration. Bore is shiny, except for the final 5" at muzzle as a notable oxidized and lightly pitted appearance. (26-254/RW).
